You will be impressed by the varied nature and the beautiful landscape, interesting hiking trails along the steep coast, over the Schaabe to Juliusruh and further up to the Cape Arkona or the castle Spyker.

Our hiking suggestions:

Schaabe (approx. 18 km):

Hike directly on the beach or in the pine forest of the Schaabe from Glowe to Juliusruh and back to Glowe.

Spyker castle:

From Glowe a hiking trail leads directly to the lagoon and to the castle Spyker. You can easily walk the path within half an hour. It leads along the great Jasmunder Bodden through a delightful landscape.

NATURAL HERITAGE CENTER RÜGEN

Natural Heritage Center

The Binzer frazione Prora on the island of Rügen offers since June 2013 a new attraction for nature and adrenaline junkies. To move with Mighty Treetops guestfriendly book on par-this is possible on the barrier-free Baumwipfelpfad of the Natural Heritage Centre Rügen. At a height of 4 to 17 meters above the ground, visitors can gain special insights into the flora and fauna of the surrounding Beech mischwaldes and from the alder quarries.

The 40 metre high lookout tower in the middle of the path allows a wide view of the Rügen landscape. At a total height of 82 meters above sea level, even the spires of Stralsund and the pylons of the Rügenbrücke are shown in good visibility. With a little luck you can observe the local Sea Eagles of the surrounding forests on your excursions from the tower, which was modelled on a Eagle’s nest.

Various adventure stations on the total of 1,250 meters long path offer great and small explorers exciting and interesting facts about the subject of nature: at a water pump, visitors can find out by their own „cranks“ what power a tree must bring to transport water over the roots to the treetops. A specially adjusted binoculars illustrate the visual performance of a sea eagle. His eye is one of the most developed eyes of the animal world. With a „Hörtrichter“ reminiscent of a large gramophone funnel, visitors can listen into a „Erlenbruch“. The local bird life and the murmur of the brook feel really close. In the Eagle’s nest there are various bird nests to discover.
